Strata started from a simple frustration: a patient hands you a CD from another hospital, and your software can’t open it. The studies are encrypted, or on media nothing reads anymore, or trapped in a PACS that costs more than the practice.
Why we’re here
Medical imaging software was built for big hospitals with IT departments and procurement teams. Everyone else got the leftovers: clunky local viewers, opaque pricing, and migrations so painful they keep people locked into systems they’ve outgrown.
Strata is the opposite of that. It’s a modern, browser-based DICOM viewer that runs in a managed, secure cloud built for health data. There’s nothing to install. It opens the encrypted discs and legacy exports other tools choke on. And when you’re ready to switch, we get your data out of the old system for you.
What makes us different
- Ingest no one else has — we open password-encrypted DICOM and unpack the CDs, ISOs, and ZIPs other viewers reject.
- Migration as a first move — getting your archive out of the old system is a service we run, not a special project. We pull imaging straight from a Change Healthcare (Stratus) PACS and migrate DICOMweb archives like Orthanc and dcm4chee.
- Built for a real practice — reconcile patients split across chart numbers, share notes on a study, and pull in outside records by link.
